Reporting to the COO, this role is focused on scaling our business as quickly and sustainably as possible. This will entail working on the development, alignment, and optimization of our company’s operating capabilities with a primary focus on regional business unit expansions, internal new business start-ups and expansions as well as integrating our acquisitions. The overarching objectives are to drive our ability to sustainably meet and exceed Customer expectations, to retain these Customers, and to achieve company growth and profitability goals and objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field, plus MBA or other post-graduate degree or designation.

• Demonstrated, diversified experience in different and challenging business settings.

• Solid business acumen and sound understanding of business processes.

• A solid grasp of financial and cost accounting, data analysis, and performance metrics.

• Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

• Ability to organize and facilitate group meetings, manage discussions, and build consensus with participants on the next steps.

• Solutions-focused mindset with the ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues.

• Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically and overcome internal challenges or obstacles.

• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including good negotiation and conflict resolution skills, plus strong people management skills.

KEY Responsibilities


• Assist the COO in translating strategy into actionable objectives for performance and growth in existing and new business units, helping to implement strategy through objectives and tasks, maintaining objective alignment and performance management, and assisting with annual and ongoing operating planning at the operating unit level.

• Help create and build new locations and business units working with other company personnel, including assisting with planning, site selection, lease negotiation, construction, equipment needs, operating and admin processes, and other resources, working with Operations, Sales, and Finance functions.

• Help build and implement strong standardized processes and procedures focused mainly on new locations and new business operations to enable the delivery of strong Customer service at the same time maintaining exceptional health and safety processes.

• Evaluate new business unit and expansion business unit operating and financial performance. With the guidance of the COO, assist business unit managers with interpreting results, making recommendations on improvements, and helping implement agreed-upon improvements.

• Especially in new businesses and locations, be a key participant in continuing to build a strong Company culture of Customer service, based upon consistently living the Company's Core Values.

• Work with Company Indigenous Relationship Development Advisors to assess and then advance opportunities to work together with indigenous communities, businesses, and suppliers to create mutually beneficial outcomes.

• Demonstrate a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.


Job Duties:

• Help refine strategic plans and create tactical plans for expanding business units and the start-up of new business segments and help Business Unit Managers implement these plans. 

• Develop an understanding of customer business through cross-functional planning and analysis efforts to ensure successful integration.

• Execute project plans to achieve integration objectives and timelines.

• Provide ongoing status communication and reporting to identify wins, opportunities, return on investment, etc. to company leadership.

• Serve as a cross-functional resource to help organize and execute against core business objectives.

• Participate in discovery sessions with customers and subject matter experts to understand capabilities, map out processes, set key milestones, and identify integration risks and opportunities.

• Manage/track integration intake, prioritization, evaluation, and execution.

• Help build consistent, aligned processes in new locations and business units.

• Analyze new business unit internal operations and identify areas of process improvement and enhancement.

• Implement improvements and new technologies working with the personnel of the new location or business unit.

• Monitor new unit performance by tracking and implementing corrective improvement steps as needed; prepare reports that summarize status and progress across the unit’s operations and processes.

• Maintain and build trusted relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders. 

• Employing various initiatives, including a focus on Lean Thinking, help coach employees to eliminate waste and optimize their capabilities.
