Job summary
In this role, you will be the face of our Company in the GTA, responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive business growth and profitability while working closely with inside sales, operations, and scheduling.
To be successful in this role, you will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.
Your key responsibilities include:
Customer Acquisition: Prospect new and current customers through site visits, cold-calling, networking, internal and external referrals, follow-ups, or other means. Identify potential customers' needs outside traditional hydrovac requirements and articulate the benefits of using OE’s in-house ancillary equipment and services.
Sales Presentations & Demonstrations: Improve, develop, and deliver sales lunch and learns tailored to the potential customer's needs. This may involve demonstrating how our other ancillary equipment, in-house services and internal disposal facility can tie into their project focusing on financial and productivity benefits.
Product Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive understanding of hydro excavation, ancillary equipment and in-house services and technology. Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in the construction industry around our services to answer customer queries effectively and provide reliable recommendations.
Customer Relationship Management: Establish, develop, and maintain positive business relationships with customers. Follow up regularly to ensure customer satisfaction and handle any complaints or issues that arise. If required to delegate customers to other team members.
Sales Targets: Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule. Monitor and report on sales activities and performance and provide corrections where required.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities within the GTA. Use this information to identify new leads and potential new markets.
Bids and Tenders: Working with the sales team, monitoring online services to identify upcoming projects of interest and potential customers, and submitting required documents on time.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with inside sales, operations, and dispatch teams to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business. Also collaborate with the marketing team to understand and leverage their campaigns. Be a contributor to continuous improvement team activities.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on sales activities, challenges, and opportunities to the sales director. Use CRM systems to track customer interactions, sales transactions, and to forecast sales.
Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and regulations during sales processes and operations. Also, ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, environmental laws, and industry-specific regulations.
Professional Development: Participate in educational opportunities, training, industry events, and professional organizations to stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the hydrovac and construction industry.

Qualifications:
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably within the hydrovac and related industries.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the hydrovac industry, with particular emphasis on market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the Greater Toronto Area. Awareness of safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Sales Proficiency: Proven track record in outside sales: ability to set and exceed sales targets, generate leads, negotiate contracts, close deals effectively, and manage a healthy sales pipeline. Business Development: Demonstrated skills in identifying and converting opportunities to expand business. Ability to strategize and implement effective business growth plans.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to present complex information about our hydrovac services clearly and effectively.
• Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a diverse range of Customers. Must have exceptional Customer service skills.
• Customer Service: Commitment to providing outstanding customer service, with a focus on understanding their needs, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring satisfaction.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate effectively, achieving favorable terms for the company while maintaining Customer satisfaction.
• Collaborative: Ability to work well with internal teams, facilitating clear communication between Customers and operations, scheduling teams to ensure smooth service delivery. Ability to collaborate with other Inside Sales and Regional Sales Managers to ensure smooth Customer engagement across regions.
• Technology Skills: Proficiency in using CRM, ERP and MS Office Suite. Experience with other sales and marketing software would be a plus.
• Adaptability: Comfort with change and ambiguity, with the ability to quickly adjust strategies and tactics in response to changing market conditions or Customer needs.
Self-Motivation: Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative. Should be able to work independently and be resilient in the face of obstacles and challenges.

• Manual dexterity is required to use a computer.
• Travel: Must have a valid driver's license and be willing and able to travel regularly within the Greater Toronto Area.
